HSLS provides Pitt users with access to the Henry Stewart Talks: Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection of online, audiovisual talks given by leading experts from around the world. More than 40 new talks—on topics including innate immunity, glycobiology, cytokines, and calcium signaling, among others—were recently added to this collection. Nearly 1,600 talks across 80 different series are available, and over 100 talks are approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for CME credit. One key feature of the talks is a slide index, allowing you to instantly navigate to specific points in a particular talk.
To access the Henry Stewart Talks: Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection:
- Search for “Henry Stewart Talks” in the Pitt Resources Quick Search box. An alphabetical list of all talks will be retrieved. You can also search by individual title.
- Click on the Videos tab in the search.HSLS.MolBio search box.
HSLS provides Pitt and UPMC users with access to SpringerProtocols, an online database of research protocols from several Springer/Humana Press series—Methods in Molecular Biology, Methods in Pharmacology and Toxicology, Neuromethods, Methods in Molecular Medicine, Methods in Biotechnology, and the Springer Protocols Handbooks. These step-by-step laboratory protocols are written by experts in the field and peer-reviewed. More than 20 new protocols—on topics including cell culture, p53, calcium-binding proteins, and data mining, among others—were recently added to this collection.
To access Springer Protocols:
- Search for individual titles using the Pitt Resources Quick Search box.
- Click on the Protocols tab in the search.HSLS.MolBio search box.
