JoVE, also known as the Journal of Visualized Experiments, is well-regarded for its granular content that shows a broad range of scientific experiments, giving users step-by-step guidance for replication in video format. The outlet has now expanded its Science Education collection to include a new Information Literacy series of videos. Each of the animated videos is under two minutes long and is designed to summarize key research skill areas. The topics range from learning how to properly read research, to spotting misinformation, to how to effectively navigate a research database.
Each clip has both a full-text transcript and in-video captions, along with notably extensive accessibility controls for the website’s user interface:
Instructors can embed videos in course material. Be sure to use Pitt’s EZproxy URL prefix address when embedding or sharing videos with other Pitt users, as this is a subscription-based resource.
