(If you are off campus, you will first need to log in via Pitt Passport.) 

If you previously inserted links to Bates’ into course documents, syllabi, Canvas, or other learning management systems, please update those links with the new URL as well as any access instructions promptly. Previous links to Bates’ will no longer work, effective January 14, 2025.

New Graduate Course Coming in Fall 2025: Analyzing Health Data with All of Us

The All of Us (AoU) Research Program is a biobank established by the National Institutes of Health in 2018 that contains diverse health data from nearly one million Americans. While HSLS’s Molecular Biology Information Service (MBIS) offers workshops and code templates to introduce students to this database, many students require more comprehensive support to complete their AoU research projects. To address this, MBIS has collaborated with Pitt’s Human Genetics department to launch a new graduate-level course for Fall 2025 called Analyzing Health Data with the All of Us Research Program (HUGEN 2081). Farewell

Barb May, HSLS Document Delivery Manager, retired from the University in early January 2025, after 36 remarkable years with HSLS. Since her hiring in 1989, Barb’s exceptional attention to detail and dedication to customer support quickly elevated her to the role of department head and supervisor of the DocDel team.

Throughout her career, Barb has made a lasting impact on the Health Sciences community by facilitating access to hundreds of thousands of journal articles supporting Pitt’s Health Sciences initiatives and sharing resources with Health Sciences libraries across the nation. Her commitment to excellence has left an enduring legacy in the field.
