HSLS is offering FOUR classes this week related to data visualization!!! So exciting!
Monday 9th, 11am – 12pm Introduction to Tableau for Data Visualization
- You’ve collected your data. Now what? In this class we will learn how to use Tableau to demonstrate the significance of your data.
Tuesday 10th, 10am – 11am Graphic Design with Canva
- Learn how to make attention-getting posters and presentation graphics with Canva, a free online graphic design platform. This hands-on class will show you how to create an account, find free templates and stock photos, upload your own images, and download or print your finished product. Basic elements of design will also be discussed.
Tuesday 10th, 1pm – 2pm Infographics: Sharing Information Visually
- Make your raw data more appealing and consumable with infographics. In this class, you’ll learn what infographics are and how they can make data easier to understand and share. Finally, we’ll wrap up by demonstrating an online resource (Piktochart) so you’ll be ready to create your own infographics.
Wednesday 11th, 10am – 11am Data Visualization in R with ggplot2
- This class covers the creating visualization of data using the ggplot2 package in R. This is a flipped class and the third part of a series: Introduction to R; Data Management in R, and Data Visualization in R. Upon registration, you will receive links to workshop materials (PowerPoint slides, lecture videos, and practice exercises) that you can view on your schedule. During the class, you will learn how to solve the exercise problems.
