The Research Computing Education initiative (RCE@Pitt) is hosting the Data Basics workshop series again this Fall.

Tuesday evenings on Zoom, 5-8 pm, September 15th – November 3rd.

Data Basics is an 8 part workshop series covering the basic techniques for research computing with the Python programming language. The series is oriented towards folks who have little experience with computing and programming but are motivated to learn these skills to help with their research. Data Basics is open to graduate students, postdocs, researchers, faculty, and staff from all disciplines and any skill level.

1. September 15th – Data Centric Python with Jupyter Part 1
2. September 22nd – Data Centric Python with Jupyter Part 2
3. September 29th – Computing Environments and the Unix Shell
4. October 6th – Data Processing with Python and Pandas Part One
5. October 13th – Data Processing with Python and Pandas Part Two
6. October 20th – Data Visualization with Python
7. October 27th- Relational Databases and SQL Part One
8. November 3rd – Relational Databases and SQL Part Two
