The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is surveying researchers about their experiences with and views of CC-BY licenses. They are particularly interested in the downstream uses of work published under an open license. The survey is an important opportunity to capture the benefits of open licenses and will provide insight into gaps in author understanding as well as any concerns about the licenses.
AAAS is hopeful that this will be a positive contribution to the community’s work in educating researchers about the benefits of open licensing and the broad sharing and reuse of research outputs. Please consider taking the survey yourself if you publish scholarly outputs and are knowledgeable about open licenses. Responses should be submitted by December 15.
