History of Medicine
Following the library’s full re-opening in August 2021, HSLS hosted 83 History of Medicine and Special Collections visitors and researchers, including undergraduate science and literature classes.
Award Winning Exhibit
The exhibit “Beyond the Practice of Medicine – Selection of Medical Medals from the HSLS Collection” was presented for the competition at the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists 2021 Fall Convention. The exhibit won the People’s Choice Award.
Medical Treasures
The Medical Treasures virtual series, with five episodes that spanned February-September 2021, was shared and promoted by Pitt’s Medical Alumni Association. The episodes were produced by HSLS and showcase interesting historical books and artifacts from the Falk Library Rare Book Room.

Beautiful Books
Beautiful Books was a second video series developed as a standalone project to highlight a unique or beautiful book from the Falk Library Rare Book Room.
