West Wing Construction

A new Falk Library is on the way! As part of the Scaife Hall West Wing construction project, Falk Library is embarking on an exciting renovation project. Highlights of the new space will include updated and expanded learning and study spaces, integrated technology areas, modular seating, and a new entrance on Lothrop Street, convenient for all health sciences students.

Study Space Changes

Although library space was heavily impact by construction, a total of 250 study and technology seats were available to library visitors through study carrels, tables, and standing desks.  Between July 2019 and March 2020 (when the library closed), there were more than 148,000 library visitors.

Updated History of Medicine

As part of the Scaife Hall West Wing construction project, the History of Medicine collection moved into its new home. The new space provides an updated reading room, display cases visible from the library study area, and a high security vault for our most historically important and valuable materials.

New Office Suites

A new office suite for seven Research and Instruction librarians, along with other staff spaces, were constructed as part of the West Wing enabling project.
