InCites provides comprehensive journal and article metrics, and includes JCR and its companion database, <a href=\"http:\/\/wokinfo.com\/products_tools\/analytical\/essentialscienceindicators\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Essential Science Indicators<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><i>JCR<\/i> is a valuable tool that can be used to easily identify the most appropriate, influential journals in which to publish. You can also confirm the status of journals in which you have published, and track bibliometric and citation patterns. JCR is published annually (approximately June) following the year of coverage. The Science edition covers over 8,400 journals and the Social Sciences edition more than 3,000 journals.<\/p>\n<p>New <i>JCR<\/i> features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased access to both the Science and Social Sciences editions and all years of data.<\/li>\n<li>Network graphs<b> <\/b>include dynamic and interactive link and node visualizations that enable users to see the strength of relationships at both the category and journal levels.<\/li>\n<li>A Compare Journals feature that enables users to select journals and view comparative data based on various indicators.<\/li>\n<li>Ego Networks<b> <\/b>provide a depiction of a journal&#8217;s relationship to other journals in their network based on either citing or cited data by the metric of Impact Factor or Market Share.<\/li>\n<li>Download data tables in CSV or XLS format, and other data that includes graphs as a PDF.<\/li>\n<li>You can save comparison reports as well as journal lists that you\u2019ve created and that can be accessed at a later time so long as you are logged in with a username and password, which you can create on the<i> <\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/pitt.idm.oclc.org\/login?url=http:\/\/about.jcr.incites.thomsonreuters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>JCR<\/i> Web site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Accessing JCR<\/span><\/strong><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>To access <em>Journal Citation Reports<\/em>, type <em>Journal Citation Reports<\/em><strong><i> <\/i><\/strong>in the search.HSLS box on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">HSLS home page<\/a> or browse the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/resources\/databases\" target=\"_blank\">Databases A-Z list<\/a>. Under the database name, click on <strong>Access via Thomson Reuters for Pitt and UPMC Users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the \u201cInCites Journal Citation Reports\u201d home page, click on the <strong>Sign in<\/strong> button and then click on <strong>Continue without signing in<\/strong> (located on the right side of the screen).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Finding the impact factor information for a single journal<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the left-side menu, in the \u201cGo to Journal Profile\u201d search box, type the name of the journal. There is an autosuggest feature to help speed your search.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>blue search<\/strong> button to the right of the search box.<\/li>\n<li>At the top of the screen, you\u2019ll see pertinent information about the journal.
