The popular online resource provides medical students, surgical residents, and practicing surgeons with quick answers to surgical inquiries from authoritative sources. The content is basically the same and includes surgical textbooks, such as <i>Schwartz\u2019s Principles of Surgery<\/i> and <i>Zollinger\u2019s Atlas of Surgical Operations<\/i>. You\u2019ll also find an extensive collection of images and surgical videos, case files, drug information, patient handouts, and more.<\/p>\n<p>New features come with the new platform:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Mobile Optimized<\/span>:\n<ul>\n<li>The <em>AccessSurgery<\/em> browser automatically adapts to any mobile device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Personalized Accounts<\/span>:\n<ul>\n<li>Use your personalized account to login to <i>AccessSurgery<\/i> remotely instead of using Pitt\u2019s EZproxy service or UPMC Access.<\/li>\n<li>Use your personal account to set up automatic e-mail alerts for search terms.<\/li>\n<li>Save images and figures to your computer. Also, download them from <em>AccessSurgery<\/em> directly into PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Streamlined Interface and Functionality<\/span>:\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the \u201cSites\u201d drop-down menu to easily move to other Access resources, such as <em>AccessMedicine<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To create a free personalized account, select <strong>Login or Create a Free Personal Account<\/strong> from the University of Pittsburgh drop down box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.<\/p>\n<p>To use <em>AccessSurgery<\/em>, type <strong><em>AccessSurgery<\/em> <\/strong>in the search.HSLS box on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">HSLS home page <\/a>\u00a0or browse the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/resources\/databases\" target=\"_blank\">Databases A-Z list<\/a>.
