Although the new calendar year officially begins in January, August begins the new academic year. There are a few things you should know about the library that can make this new year easier for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Falk Library is located on the second floor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tour.pitt.edu\/tour\/scaife-hall\" target=\"_blank\">Scaife Hall<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Falk Library is open 110 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/about\/hours\/\" target=\"_blank\">hours<\/a> a week.<\/li>\n<li>An extensive, up-to-date <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">online library<\/a> is available to you.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/askalibrarian\" target=\"_blank\">Ask us a question<\/a> via e-mail, phone, or chat.<\/li>\n<li>Contact your <a href=\"http:\/\/hsls.libguides.com\/content.php?pid=329837&amp;sid=2707065\" target=\"_blank\">liaison librarian<\/a> and find out how the library can help you.<\/li>\n<li>To learn about molecular biology databases and software tools, contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/molbio\" target=\"_blank\">Molecular Biology Information Service<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Use <a href=\"http:\/\/pittcat.hsls.pitt.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">PITTCat<\/a>, the online catalog of the University of Pittsburgh libraries, to locate electronic and print journals and books, audiovisual materials, and other resources.<\/li>\n<li>Put your course readings, books, or other materials on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/services\/reserves\" target=\"_blank\">reserve<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Are we missing something you need? If so, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/services\/purchase\" target=\"_blank\">recommend a resource<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>You can borrow <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/services\/technology\" target=\"_blank\">tablet and laptop computers as well as flash drives and headphones<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Group study rooms with wall-mounted display screens can be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/groupstudy\/\" target=\"_blank\">reserved<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Take one of our many <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/class\/desc\" target=\"_blank\">classes<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Learn about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/resources\/mobile-resources\" target=\"_blank\">mobile apps<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We invite you to use the library\u2019s resources and services to support your teaching, learning, and research activities.
