Powered by Symplectic Elements, Discover complements Scholars@Pitt Profiles by making faculty profiles visible to audiences beyond the University.<\/p>\n<h3>Two Sites, One System<\/h3>\n<h4>Scholars@Pitt Profiles<\/h4>\n<p>The internal site, accessible to Pitt faculty and staff, is where you manage your scholarly record by adding publications, grants, teaching activities, professional engagements, and more.<\/p>\n<h4>Scholars@Pitt Discover<\/h4>\n<p>The new public-facing site where anyone, inside or outside the University, can find your work. Your profile will only be visible on Discover once you have opted to make it public.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Share Your Complete Profile<\/h3>\n<p>Keeping your Scholars@Pitt profile up to date and publishing it to Discover offers several practical advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Increase your visibility:<\/strong> External collaborators, prospective students, journalists, and event organizers can find and contact you based on your research interests and expertise.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Streamline administrative reporting:<\/strong> The platform aggregates your scholarly activity automatically, reducing the time spent compiling materials for faculty reviews, tenure and promotion packets, and grant reporting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support funding and partnerships:<\/strong> Grant administrators and colleagues looking to build multidisciplinary proposals can identify you as an expert in your field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Showcase the full scope of your work:<\/strong> Go beyond a standard CV by highlighting teaching awards, committee service, community outreach, and professional engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To appear on Discover, log in to your Scholars@Pitt Profiles account and review your profile for completeness and accuracy. Key elements to check include your biography, headshot, areas of expertise, and publication list. When you are ready, update your privacy settings to make your profile public.
