Unlike our Elsevier agreement, this agreement does cover all hybrid and gold open access journals (use Wiley\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiley.com\/en-us\/publish\/journal-finder\">journal finder<\/a>\u00a0for the most accurate title listing \u2013 journals may change publishers).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Note, all other conditions still apply, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>only corresponding authors currently enrolled as students or employed at the University of Pittsburgh or UPMC, at the time of article\u2019s acceptance for publication, are eligible<\/li>\n<li>other publishing fees, such as page\/figure\/submission charges, are <strong>not<\/strong> covered by this agreement<\/li>\n<li>eligible article types include original research, review articles, and case studies; types like commentaries or letters to the editor are <strong>not<\/strong> eligible<\/li>\n<li>APC coverage is conditional, and submission of an article to one of Wiley\u2019s journals does <strong>not guarantee<\/strong> APC coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An APC for an article is covered under our agreement only if\/when\u00a0all four\u00a0of the following conditions are met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the corresponding author\u2019s affiliation is verified as eligible,<\/li>\n<li>the manuscript has gone through peer review and is formally accepted for publication,<\/li>\n<li>the author selects an open access license and signs the publisher\u2019s agreement, and<\/li>\n<li>the number of articles published under the agreement has not reached our institutional limit for the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the number of articles published under the agreement has reached our institutional limit for the year, corresponding\u00a0authors will be responsible for any invoice received from the publisher, no matter the article submission date.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Wiley\u2019s agreement or about other OA agreements, please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/publishopen.pitt.edu\/\">Open Access Publishing Agreements<\/a>\u00a0page or contact us at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ULS-PublishingOpenAccess@pitt.edu\">ULS-PublishingOpenAccess@pitt.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>~Melissa Ratajeski<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For 2026, ULS and HSLS negotiated with Wiley to receive a higher annual institutional limit on the number of articles eligible for open access (OA) article processing charge (APC) coverage.
