It runs offline in a web browser and allows for reproducibility in data cleaning. Any student, faculty member, or researcher who works with data can benefit from learning to use this powerful tool.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Exploring and Cleaning Data with OpenRefine is a hands-on class that will meet in person in Falk Library\u2019s brand-new classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completing this class, you should be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>create a new project<\/li>\n<li>explore the data through sorting, filtering, and faceting functions<\/li>\n<li>complete basic data cleaning such as splitting or combining cells and clustering to find and fix inconsistent data entries<\/li>\n<li>create JSON scripts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Class materials will be made available to class registrants. This class will not be recorded.
