Listening to JAWS\u00ae with headphones, you can use a mouse and keyboard to read a website, edit a document, and send an e-mail. One of the most popular screen reader programs, JAWS\u00ae features two multilingual synthesizers and can easily be paired with Braille keyboard input. With licensing support from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technology.pitt.edu\/\">Pitt Information Technology<\/a>, JAWS\u00ae is now available on Falk Library computers running Windows OS, including classroom computers and laptops.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>JAWS\u00ae is being offered as part of HSLS\u2019s self-service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/accessible-technology\">accessible technology offerings<\/a>. Other programs including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvaccess.org\/\">NVDA<\/a>, a freely available screen reader, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturalreaders.com\/online\/\">NaturalReader<\/a>, a text-to-speech program, are available to anyone who signs on to a Falk Library computer using their Pitt ID\u2014no special request is required. The desktop of each computer contains an Accessible Resources folder with other readily available websites and browser extensions that facilitate accessible technology use.<\/p>\n<p>If there is an accessibility program, setting, or equipment not currently available at Falk Library, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/accessible-technology\">online request form<\/a> or contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsls.pitt.edu\/technology\/contact\">HSLS Technology Help Desk<\/a>.
