Every time I attend one of your lectures I learn something. This is my life and I always think that I have figured out the “best way” of doing things. Then I attend one of your lectures and I realize that there is much better way. You are a wonderful teacher and have truly mastered the interactive teaching style.

Consultations and Instruction by Request

Consultations are requests for personalized guidance and expertise to address specific needs, provided one-on-one or in small group settings. Along with invited presentations or lectures by HSLS instructors, there was a noticeable increase in these requests in FY 23.

The discussion was great, the presentation was exceptionally informative but engaging, the speakers were well informed and genuinely interested in the topic 10/10.

Asynchronous Instruction

HSLS offers 12 standalone LibWizard tutorials. These tutorials are a mix of active learning and didactic information.

Five of these tutorials were developed for integration into the School of Rehabilitation Sciences curriculum and the Homewood Community Engagement Center. Other topics included data services, EndNote, and library orientation.

LibWizard tutorials were completed 150 times in FY 23.

UPMC Residents/Fellows

The Library Orientation for residents and fellows was revised into a standalone tutorial in LibWizard and was completed by 50 learners.

I learned not only how to start a poster from scratch on PowerPoint, but also how to amend existing templates in PowerPoint for use – all using the same techniques and logic.
