A new Falk Library is on the way! As part of the\u202f<\/span><\/span>Scaife Hall West Wing construction project<\/span><\/span><\/a>, Falk Library is embarking on an exciting renovation project. Highlights of the new space will include updated and expanded learning and study spaces, integrated technology areas, modular seating, and a new entrance on Lothrop Street, convenient for all health sciences students.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Although library space was heavily impact by construction, a total of 250 study<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>technology seats were available to library visitors through study carrels, tables<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and standing desks. \u00a0Between July 2019 and March 2020 (when the library closed), there were more than 148,000\u00a0<\/span><\/span>library\u00a0<\/span><\/span>visitors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of the Scaife Hall West Wing construction project,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>he History of Medicine collection moved into its new home<\/span><\/span>. The new\u00a0<\/span><\/span>space<\/span><\/span>\u00a0provides an updated reading room, display cases<\/span><\/span>\u00a0visible from the library study area,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a<\/span><\/span>\u00a0high security vault for our most historically important and valuable materials.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
