Research and Instruction<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

HSLS supports <\/span><\/span>instruction<\/span><\/span>, research and clinical care in the health sciences for University of Pittsburgh faculty, students<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and staff, and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>UPMC<\/span><\/span>\u00a0residents and fellows. Faculty librarians\u00a0<\/span><\/span>offer assistance<\/span>\u00a0throughout the research process<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>C<\/span><\/span>lasses\u00a0<\/span><\/span>on evidence-based searching, scholarly communication and research impact, citation management, instructional and visual design, and special topics are offered regularly and customized for courses and groups. Research and instructional services are also provided by the specialized teams of Data Services and Molecular Biology Information Services.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0<\/span><\/span>In order to protect our community at the University, HSLS started operating under a modified status in March 2020 due to the national\u00a0<\/span><\/span>COVID-19\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>pandemic. Du<\/span><\/span>ring<\/span><\/span>\u00a0these unprecedented times, HSLS was able to pivot and offer many resources and services online, while still being available for consultations and instruction remotely.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Scaife Hall West Wing construction project<\/span><\/span><\/a>, Falk Library is embarking on an exciting renovation project. Highlights of the new space will include updated and expanded learning and study spaces, integrated technology areas, modular seating, and a new entrance on Lothrop Street, convenient for all health sciences students.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
