This two-part workshop (9/17 and 9/24) will focus on a variety of genome biology resources. Participants will learn to …

  • Identify and retrieve organism’s whole genome sequence information by searching databases, including NCBI Genome and Integrated Microbial Genome.
  • Navigate the genome sequences and extract information from the annotated genome data using popular genome browsers, including UCSC Genome Browser and NCBI MapViewer.
  • Construct complex queries and retrieve large-scale genome data associated with a track using the Table browser.
  • Create custom genome browser tracks from users’ own uploaded data using UCSC Custom Track tool.

This class is approved for AMA Category 2 CME credit.
